@TracyT68 I am asthmatic and my doctor informed me that I am in Group 2, which is not extremely vulnerable, but I still got a text for my boss to say I am vulnerable and need to self Isolate, so I would just call your doctor and find out exactly where you stand.

Hi my daughter just turned 10 she has asthma . She has 2 inhalers only. Woththeone once a day. I didn't get any letters for her. I went to .y surgery and they where sending me off explaining that the GP has no time for letters. I'm a single mom and have been asked to go to work and my daughter to be sent to school. I have refused but they asking for a letter. Any help or ideas how to sort this out. Please

@Annie43 I'm still at work I spoke to my asthma nurse and she said I have my asthma under control and it's only people who have severe asthma that were getting letters to isolate and didnt have it controlled....

Hi there Annie, I am on high dose steroid inhaler & montelukast tabs with ventolin as my reliever, my peak flow is below what it should be. I spoke to the practice nurse who said that unless I had been admitted to A&E in last 12 months I wouldn’t receive a letter, in the same breath she told me not to leave the house apart from 20mins a day for exercise and to get someone else to walk my dogs. I find this very confusing as I have not to shield but I’m only allowed out 20 minutes a day 🤷🏻♀️ Two other people at my work who I know well are getting letters after speaking to their GPS, they have not had steroids or hospital admissions in the last 12 months either. Finding it all very contradictory 😞

@Rudolph Same here, I’m having a flare up at the moment and I’m already on the maximum steroid dose plus an oral daily tablet. I have been told to stay in but I’m not shielding, as far as I’m concerned you either have Asthma or you don’t and it’s a life threatening condition regardless of how you are at present.

I had an asthma attack at the beginning of March. Given antibiotics and steroids. Two weeks later I had to have a second course of steroids. I take sirdupla 250, 2 puffs twice a day. Ventolin and montelukast at night. My GP and my practice asthma nurse have told me to shield. I completed the gov.uk register for assistance 3 weeks ago. I have had no response. No letter and no text. I am shielding, but not sure how to get help if I need it.
