Hello all, I just posted this in the other discussion but I thought I'd share it here too in case you haven't seen it.

It seems like there is just a general lack of information for us with asthma, it's so frustrating. I saw that Asthma UK has set up a helpline where you can talk with an asthma expert nurse: 0300 222 5800, maybe they can help some of you with specific cases and questions. They've also set up an information site that is helpful: https://www.asthma.org.uk/advice/triggers/coronavirus-covid-19/

Take care and please stay safe everyone! x

I live near stowmarket uk. I got a letter from my surgery  on 23rd March. As I am a chonic brittle asthmatic and i also had corneal eye transplant last year , so I am on immunosuppression tablets to stop my eye being rejected. My eye has be a big problem  . And sunday I had a phone call  from  my mum to say my great auntie  passed away we don't know if it is from the virus. As she was 96 and it poor health too.

Hello all hope everyone is ok.  My mind is blown with all this advice.  I haven’t received a letter to shields. My family think I should have and my doctor last week said I don’t meet the criteria. I take ventolin as and when I need as well as  2 puffs morning and night. DuoResp 2 puffs twice a day. I have been prescribed montelukast which I have never taken because I have massive anxiety issues and am terrified of taking meds.  I suffer terrible when I get a cold and have been getting the flu jab for last few years.   I am now off on holiday as I don’t work school holidays I also chose to self isolate for 2 weeks before hand as not able to work from home. BecUse I didn’t get a letter to shield I spoke with my boss to say I would come back after Easter obviously taking into account the social distancing. I am due back Monday and am Terrified.  I noticed today that the shielding criteria has changed  and again I do t meet all three. What can I do?

I hope you are all well.

I have asthma which I'm taking fostair (Pink inhaler) i also have ventolin (Blue inhaler)

I haven't received a text or letter to self isolate for 12 weeks and was wondering should i do this anyway? Have some of us been lost in the system somehow?

I am offered and have flu Jab every year.

Many thanks

@Becky81 yes a few of us seem to be lost in space, I am self isolating for 12 weeks as my asthma terrible with just a cold. I guess it's up to you whether you take the risk. I am annoyed about these letters as I know people who have had one that only started with asthma last year 🤷‍♀️. Stay safe x

Hi a month ago I was signed off work my doctor said I was high risk and should isolate. My note has ran out and I have not received a shielding letter even though I take a few of the medication on the list and was put on steroids yesterday my doctor has agreed to sign me off again but I'm not sure for how long I will get it in the post. Should I have received a letter???
