Hi.

I was diagnosed with asthma 4 years ago when I was admitted into hospital with severe phnemonia

i have the fostair steroid inhaler twice a day and salbutamol inhaler. I was given montekelust tablets also but I don’t take them. I was told I’m high risk as I also have cardiovascular syncope. but had no government letter or anything. But then I only moved in March and hospital doesn’t have my new address yet.

@TrudySargeant If you contact your local council and advise them you are shielding they will help you in whatever way they can with grocery’s and prescriptions I received a text from gov saying I was on list and to contact local council if I needed help, local council contacted me before I contacted them and offered there services. Maybe give them a call tomorrow goodluck and stay safe🌈

Thanks. I just don't understand when my Dr says she has put me forward why I haven't heard anything. Also if I registered on a government site as directed, they haven't responded either. Stay safe yourself 🌈 xx

@TrudySargeant  I waited about two weeks after gp said they had done same for me not sure why you haven’t heard from gov as I received message next day after going on register for shielding (but then my da didn’t receive a text either) I then received a call from local council to say my name was on the isolation list as (I needed to isolate as I was symptomatic ) don’t know where they got this information they then knew I was going into shielding after isolation and offered there services  my  da who got his letter as soon as they came out was just contacted last week after 5 weeks by his local council to ask if he needed any of their help or services I do believe if you contact council you will not need shielding letter they may have a system where they know you are on list give them a call hopefully that can assist you further good luck again keep us updated on how you get on may you and your family remain safe🌈

Thank you. I was totally unaware of this, I shall contact the council.

only correspondence I’ve had is email from British lung foundation and Sainsbury’s saying I’m a priority customer for home delivery

I'm very concerned as I'm severe asthmatic but only a letter from dr saying so. This is not good enough for furlough payment I'm told by my employers I'm working on tills, reception and in Aisles. So have to work. Or only get sick pay. I am very concerned and can not afford to be without money coming in.

I have a letter but my work wanted others like others got. They are going to ask there advisors. My dr said that should be good enough. but I am still working but wearing gloves masks and behind screen now at all times. So I dont now have to be in the Aisles. Until they decide. My stress levels are through the roof
