I have been prescribed Oramorph, which is liquid morphine, to help with breathlessness. I would like to hear from anyone else who has used this medication. Thanks in advance

Look out for the constipation and keep suitable remedies on hand as your firm up. Otherwise it works well at pain killing but for breathlessness I don't know.

@johno51 How have you found the treatment so far? Did it help with your breathlessness?

Did it help? I call it my "liquid lungs." The difference is amazing. Medicines don't work the same for evreyone but I would certainly give it a try if i was you. Hope this helps.

@johno51 Hi John, that's wonderful news! Maybe others will have success too with "liquid lungs" :)
I'm glad that your breathlessness has cleared up, thanks for the feedback!
Have any other members tried it?

It's not actually cleared up but I now longer gasp for air like I used to. I can do a lot more and don't get so breathless. Thanks for caring.

@johno51 @Zonnie I hope that you're both doing well :)
One of our members @GLOJO1 read your post but had difficulties responding, here is her advice though :)
"Hi , i noticed that one of our members asked a question about oral morph that the Doctor had given her to help her Copd. I tried to answer her but didn't know how to contact her. Could you please make it easier for me, I'm not very good with the internet. But if this Man or Lady is reading this, all i can say is that i tried it and all it did for me was to make me feel very sick and giddy and not help my Copd at all. I use Anora once every .morning,Ventolin up to 4 times a day.I also use my Nebuliser if and when i need it. Sorry i can't be of any more help, but if you decide to try the Oral morphe ,just try a little tiny drop first and see how you feel .All the best. Hope things work out for you. Love Glojo."
Also, please have a look at our medication fact sheet all about Oramorph to see what other patients had to say. You can find it by clicking here.
