Hello @primrose, thank you for starting this discussion. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. It can be so hard when a relationship comes to an end. Let me tag some other members who can maybe share their thoughts with you.
Hi everyone, how are you today? Have you ever felt numb or like you lost yourself or your purpose after the end of a relationship? What did you do to regain your confidence and help you to move on?

I know the feeling, I have walked out of my 23 year marriage abd I feel numb, empty, alone and no idea how to cope. But I have my adult son living with me a the moment, but not for long.

The breakup of a relationship is very tough, and in a way like grief with anger, regret, sadness, loss, helplessness despair betrayal, loss of control Unlike grief unless you have a good friend to talk to, many people will never express their emotions.

I can also relate to this, just had to recently cut off a very long relationship with a friend. I almost want to be sad about it, but I just can't feel anything. I should feel sad and even angry about how it all happened but I just can't.
How are you all doing? @primrose @anne1710

I know the feeling too. I've been alone for many years now because of a relationship that ended like this. The numbness has stayed more or less through the years, but it has eased a bit. I think it takes time for the mind to accept it all. It's unbearable, isn't it?

I always remember this ...."It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone." -Rose Kennedy
