@Courtney_J I wish people and the health services would realise that mental health is just as important as physical health. Also, the fact that mental health issues are not a barrier to performing or having a job.

I wish people knew that mental illness isn't "catching". Sometimes I feel like people treat me as a leper when they find out I have BPD and depression.

Hi everyone,
Did you know that this week is Mental Illness Awareness Week, and today, 10 October, is World Mental Health Day?
In honour of this special week shining light on and raising awareness for mental illness, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in the United States has published a few videos raising the voices of those living with mental illness to talk about their experiences.
I thought I'd share one:
So, what about you? What do you wish people knew about your mental illness or mental illness in general?
@Tigger.co.uk @Kairus @cassie @RolandKi @LeeBee @Magpies1 @Cathy45 @yo-yoing @ahhhwelltherewego @Martachris @MaggiD @gwizardstar @Rachaelk @Shelly1pap @Daisydef @muskee31 @sophiesmum @Debs6660 @katz38 @lesmal
Feel free to share your thoughts here, it's by talking openly about mental illness that we can help to end the stigma!
Take care,
Courtney
