Hi everyone 💗
For many people with hormone-sensitive breast cancer, finishing surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy does not always mean finishing treatment.
Some people may then take tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor for several years to help reduce the risk of the cancer returning.
From the outside, taking a tablet every day might seem like the easier part of breast cancer treatment.
But the reality can be much more complicated.
Hot flushes, aching joints, sleep difficulties, vaginal dryness, mood changes and other side effects can become part of everyday life. When treatment continues for years, these symptoms can gradually affect work, relationships, confidence and quality of life.
It is also possible to feel two things at once: grateful that the treatment may reduce recurrence risk, while also finding the treatment itself difficult.
💬 We’d love to hear about your experience:

If you’ve taken tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor, what is one thing you would tell someone who is about to start? Your experience may help another member feel less alone. 💗
With care,
