I have asthma and copd, I didn’t get a letter from the government to say I need to stay at home, I was told by a nurse practitioner and 111 to stay at home so I phoned my work and told them, expecting to get a letter. I still haven’t had a letter and I’m worried I’ll lose my job, shall I go back on Monday and risk it or stay home and lose my job? I work in a supermarket on checkout, can anybody advise me please?

@crocket I think I saw in an email that they did an article on here about COPD and COVID-19. Let me try to find it...
Found it, I hope I did the link right so you can click on it!
I think in general what I've been seeing is that fever is a big part of the infection, so if you're worried and feeling ill, monitor your temperature.
@Logan15 I think there's a site where you can register yourself if you haven't received a letter. I'll try to find it, but I get so lost on the NHS and government pages. If someone else has it, please share it!

Alas I can't seem to find the site, I saw it somewhere on here I think too.. But here's a bit of info on what to do if you think you should shield from the lung foundation: https://www.blf.org.uk/support-for-you/coronavirus/what-is-social-shielding

Hello everyone,
Patients with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD are part of the population at risk of complications from Coronavirus infection. It's really important to follow recommendations and guidelines published by the government and the NHS in order to best protect ourselfs from infection.
Feel free to consult our two recent articles on the coronavirus and chronic illness for more information:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
I've created this discussion so we can pose any questions or concerns about the current pandemic or just generally share our feelings about what is going on.
Have you consulted the recommendations? Who informed you first: you doctor, your pharmacist, a relative? Have you been taking any particular precautions? Have you been self-isolating? Do you have any advice for others?
Take care,
Courtney
