Shortness of breath. I cannot walk far without having to stop to rest an get my breath back. When like this I start to panic an makes it worse.

Im fed up with my caugh, had it since the start of the year, and mucus, well im fed up with it, my health has got worse this year, my back kills me, the arthritis in my back, hard to climb stairs without being out of breath, wearing a mask annoys me, my glasses steam up, hard with my hearing aid in too, but the coughing is the worse part of me at the moment, i will get the corona virus jab when im offered it though

Have both heart and lung problems, had heart attack, firmly told I have arterial defibrillitation of the heart,,,,,then diagnosed with wide spread emythsema of both lungs, hospitalised many many times over last 20 years.
My lungs played up the most out of both problems, taking me into hospital, each time being seen by both my heart and lung specialists. During one such occasion being admitted to hospital, for lungs, my specialist advised exercise, exercise, exercise. I followed this excercise to the letter,,,,being both ex, military and police trained, I followed the advice,,,I’m now 72,,,and found that after the initial shock at age 52, I found myself a fit old man and continue to do so to follow the advice given. Never give up, try and try again, it’s so easy to say to yourself your finished. What I consider as being given extra time, has allowed me to have four grand children into this world and watch them develope.
Dont lose faith, keep going.

Like most, would love to see the breathlessness decreased and a reduction in the coughing, although I realise it helps to get rid of mucus. I am exercising with dumbbells (2.5kg each) nothing too silly or strenuous and for just about 2 x5minutes each day, it help relaxes tension in my chest/back and build up muscle again. I feel it is helping, but then I guess any exercise is good. Keep well one and all.
