Hi all. I'm new here so be gentle...

I have carefully sculpted a very effective mask over the years. It has hidden so so much from the world and loved ones. I feel it slipping. How do you keep your mask in place??

Great to read your post Ursula. I do believe that you need to never give up and keep working at helping yourself along the way; despite it being 2 steps forward and 3 steps back at times. I wish you luck.

JaiJai; I was so sad to read that you continue to suffer so badly. Do you know what triggers these feelings?

I really hope that you are getting professional help?

Private message me if you would like any support, even if it is just to open up/sound off.

Take Care. x

Thankyou x I wish u better jail jail I hope u feel peace soon  x after a long day of caring for my mum my father and me had a crash bit of a shock but just to cheer u a little bit. I had been laying in the sun for a while with my mother in the shade. So being me before going home I made us both a face pack of avocado and spearmint oil. Well I applied it before I left so my face and arms were bright green. Well when the man hit my dad's truck up the back I jumped out of the car forgetting that I was bright green. The man looked very shocked and was staring at me. Total panic as I'm very nervy without a car crash. And then it dawned on me I was at a major junction with roundabout standing in my pj's with a bright green face and arms obviously it confused quite a few drivers.. a woman incredible hulk ready for bed and in total panic.

Have only just realized how strange it must have been for the poor fella..

Hope this makes someone laugh .

Sleepwell peeps must rest as am in a lot of pain and just remember when u wear ur mask make sure it's not bright green and smelling of spearmint.. x Mrs incredible hulk xxx

Just wanted to say nice to hear being opening up and being honest about how crappy life is :/ So sorry about your mum ursular. My grandad had heart failure and was going to die then we found out he had cancer too. He actually died last november from 2 huge heart attacks, it was very sudden :( I do miss him alot more than i thought i would, he was bi polar but was a vet so had some awesome stories, i miss his stories.

I am fighting back with this depression though i do 5 volunteering stuff, so I volunteer in a sight loss charity shop i am always a befriender but i am waiting to be matched with someone. Then  i help in a demeture care home. I also just started training with Mcmillian cancer support as a befriender. Plus i am hopefully going to help in a special needs school and a few other things. All these things make me feel better about life and helping others, that gives me joy :)

Mainitaing the mask I find is difficult although I seem to come accross as the capable, strong, and deal with anything thrown at me person. I tend to hide it for the sake of my two young boys who are aged 3 and 6 years of age. I have to be strong for them and part of the mask frontage comes from there.

Silly as it sounds I feel the opposite inside and feel like breaking down on more than one occasion. I feel I have to be strong for the sake of them. The best advice I could give is to be strong and show the outside world that you are better than this and can beat it.

On the days that you feel down think of what you will be doing, people you will be seeing and most of all the valued time in which you will be spending with friends and family.

Whatever happens keep your chin and head held high and show everyone you are better than this!!
