Breast cancer treatment plan can vary from one person to another, even though there is always a common base. I invite you to talk about your experience, compare your opinions and views on the subject of breast cancer treatment.

- What treatment you are currently undergoing? Do you find it effective so far? How does it make you feel?

- How and by whom was your treament plan established? Was your opinion taken into account?

- What do you expect from the new treatments for breast cancer, and the onse that have not yet been developed?

@sanlewis Can you speak with your General Practitioner? I think you have a very real reason to get checked out only to give you peace of mind. Do you have any nurse practitioners at the Cancer Centre that you can talk to?

Also if nothing else contact Macmillan who have a phone line where you can talk about medical concerns all the time- I presume you live in the UK ? Definitely go to your GP and you can always ask for a referral again to the hospital and it should be done within two weeks if they suspect cancer You need for peace of mind to get checked. A sister in the hospital once said to me - it's never wrong to ask the questions! Also when I finished treatment the oncologist said to me- it is up to you now- any signs or symptoms you are not sure about - come straight back. If the hospital is an hour away - get public transport- ask a friend - I'm sure somebody would help.

I didn't have chemotherapy or radiation thank god so I can't even imagine what it is like to go through it. I'm on hormone therapy which has its own side effects. I'm estrogen and progesterone positive. Stage 1-2 When I'm asked about my diagnosis and tell people that I'm not having chemo or radiation it's like oh sure you are ok so,there's nothing wrong with you. It's very hurtful. What they don't realise is that emotionally I have gone through the same thing and it makes me feel like I've been cheated god forgive me. Did anyone else feel the same. Don't get me wrong I am thankful for my treatment. I have a great team of doctors. Anything I asked they had no problem in answering. The only problem I have now is that I haven't another appointment until April next year. I'm taking tamoxifen

Yes in some wayside you are lucky because your cancer is do small and obviously did nothing have chance to spread or anything. Yet- you still have been through the diagnosis - very stressful and tamoxifen can have side effects. I'm always talk though about the two problems - mental and physical. Your physical problem is not as great as dome are but the mental one is just the same. Somebody described the diagonosis as being like a rabbit caught in the headlights. That is the fear it gives you. So - yes you do needunderstanding and support- people who make comments do not know anything about it - it is amazing how ignorant some people are!

@Jellag How hurtful! I know how people can be - just because you haven'g got a protruding lump coming out of your boob everything is OK. Do you have a MacMillan near you as I found them very helpful over the last year as i thought I was doing OK, but ignoring my mental state thinking it would "go away", but it doesn't ever go aware because of the fear of it coming back. Take care and keep well xxx

@sanlewis As Margaret says try the GP and/or MacMillan they have been so helpful and supportive to me. Hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later as the psychological effect can be more harmful. Take care xx

Mine was dcis my tumours were 8mm and 2mm and I had a mastectomy and reconstruction on the same day. For me psychologically it was the better choice to do it all together. Many factors came into making the decision of a mastectomy. Every case is different I imagine
