Hello my name is Richard, and I have been living with Depression for over eight years.

Simply I take each day as it comes, I have good times, not as many as I would like to be honest.

i lost my dad to cancer last February, and at the moment I am sad every day, I have a thirst that can no longer be quenched.

i am unhappy plain and simple, and came on this site, to see if there are any thoughts, guidance, help or simple encouragement someone on here can help me with.

Hope this does not fend.

Hi Richard, I'm truly sorry for your loss. Christmas is supposed to be a joyful time, buts unfortunately not for a lot of us. Coping with the loss of a loved one is never easy, do we ever get over it ? Nah, we just learn to adjust our lives accordingly. Xx

Shanicd my darling, bless you. What your faced with right now is hard, and only you and your husband can make a decision. All I will say babe is you need to do some serious soul searching and work out whats best for you.

Always here for you both

Debs

Xx

Hi everyone, thank you for sharing your stories, for me it creates a sense of community, instead of habitual feeling of isolation with your illness :-)

One day is the day that you feel alright and you can hope that you won't be feeling badly forever. Maybe it's not much but I think it's possible to tame depression to a degree that it becomes bearable.

Take care everyone x

I know I'm a bit late to post this but I'll still say it all the same. Christmas time is a happy time for most but this is also the time we think about loved ones we have lost. Whether it be a few months or 20 years they are still in our thoughts and more so over Christmas. So when your thinking about those that's no longer with us just think would they want you to be unhappy at Christmas or to have a good time. I'm not saying go crazy but try to enjoy yourself the best you can as it will also help others that could be feeling the same way as yourself but haven't said anything.

Hey everyone im new to this. im not use to being open about depression online so this feels weird. im 21 and have suffered the blues for as long as i can remember. i do feel low but does anyone get when there depression makes them because psychotic , angry , frustrated or toxic. i could be low for days and then frustrated with myself and feels like pressure building ive a bad habbit of cutting up clothes or pulling my hair out and pulling at the skin on my face, even writing this makes me think i am crazy but there must be others out there ?
