Good advisor
I had a blue badge BEFORE I had DLA. As far as I am aware Blue Badges are issued by local councils and it is nothing to do with DWP,who adminster PIP, so Im confused as to how they took your badge away.
I sent an accompanying letter with my application, detailing my condition and the difficulties it causes which means that a badge would allow me to do the same things as other 'normal' people without causing me undue distress or physical difficulties. I also got a letter from my specialist nurse to confirm my condition and in support of my application.
I would suggest you reapply for the badge and do as I did -gettting a letter of support from a suitable medical person who knows your condition and can support anything you write if possible, or even a close friend. You will need to be specific about your particular situation /difficulties -simply stating not having a badge means you have to walk further to the hospital entrance wont be enough as there are usually drop off points where drivers can drop you off whilst they go and park the car.
I hope this helps.

How much time did it take you to start receiving pip? Are you satisfied with the way the assessment is carried out?
If not, what would you change?

It took me around 9 months to get pip I didn't have a face to face assessment but I did ask for a mandatory review as I didn't get what I felt was fair. Again no assessment and now receive enhanced rate for both care and mobility. I have recently received my blue badge as I automatically qualify
