I have to Urinate often, it’s so annoying and my Bladder doesn’t completely empty. It’s such a Pain

I seem to have both symptoms overactive and doesn't completely empty. I now take two types of medication. Solifenacin to calm down the overactive element and long term antibiotics to prevent recurrent UTI's. All my bladder function issues have now returned to a normal level albeit I do have to self catheter regularly.

I've experienced bladder issues since about 1990 with both urgency and retention issues.
I 'eventually' started receiving botox injections in 2009, they're not pleasant, each treatment is 30 very sharp pinches inside the bladder and they HURT but it only takes a couple of minutes. Some patients need repeat treatments every 10-12months but I'm extremely fortunate in that I only need it doing every 17-19months but I saw a difference within 24hrs of my first treatment.
My consultant has said that it doesn't work for everyone but personally, if anyone tells me they're suffering in the ways I've suffered, I will always suggest they ask whether they can be assessed for botox treatment and to try it once to see whether it'll work for them.

Hi everyone,
How are you?
One of the most common symptoms of MS is bladder problems. This can be in the form of either an overactive bladder with constant need for urination or that the bladder won't empty properly.
Do you have bladder control issues? What problems have you encountered? How does this affect your daily life? How do you manage?
I'll tag a few members to get the conversation going. Please share your experiences!
